Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette Lazzara, born on February 28 1948) was an American actor, singer, and children's author who hails born in Ozone Park Queens New York . She has had a long career that spanned more than five decades. She has performed in shows, made solo recordings and appeared on television. She's received seven Tony Awards nominations, two of which she was awarded along with 8 Drama Desk Awards. Four of the Broadway casting albums in which she has starred have won Grammy Awards.
