Bernadette (born Bernadette lazzara(born 28 February 1948) Peters is a famous American artist, musician and writer of children's books in the series Ozone Park Queens New York. In a career that has spanned five decades she has starred in musical theatre films and TV shows as well as performing as a solo artist and recording. She's one of the most critically acclaimed Broadway artists, receiving nominations to seven Tony Awards, winning two and eight Drama Desk Awards winning three. Four of the Broadway cast albums on which she's performed have been awarded Grammy Awards. Peters initially appeared in the theatre when she was a kid, and later as an actress in her teenage years during the 1960s and in film and television in the 1970s. She was known for her stage debuts as well as for her TV appearances, including the Carol Burnett Show The Muppet Show and Annie. In the 1980s she returned to the theatre and became one of the top-respected Broadway performers over the following three years. Alongside recording six solo albums, several singles and many casting albums as performing frequently in her own concert. Peters also continues to act in television and film where she has been awarded 3 Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards being awarded once.
